Dr. Ignacio Pérez Ortiz - Veterinarian

Ignacio Pérez Ortiz

Dr. Ignacio grew up on his family’s ranch in a small town in Mexico, surrounded by horses, dogs, and cattle. Working alongside animals from an early age sparked a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine and ultimately led him to earn his veterinary degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Over the past decade, Dr. Ignacio has gained extensive experience in equine medicine through his work with respected organizations, including the UNAM Equine Hospital and The Donkey Sanctuary. His professional interests include preventative and routine equine care, dental floatings, lameness evaluations, diagnostics, and field medicine. In addition to his equine experience, Dr. Ignacio also enjoys caring for small animal patients, making him a wonderful fit for the mixed-animal environment at Hooves & Paws Pet Hospital.

Whether caring for horses, donkeys, cattle, or beloved household pets, Dr. Ignacio strives to provide every patient with gentle, thorough, and compassionate care. He values building trusting relationships with both his patients and their owners and is proud to serve the Hooves & Paws community.
